Welcome to our Membership page where we are launched on the 1st December 2015 our BlueAssist membership scheme, become a BlueAssistant
We want people to focus this year on becoming part of the BlueAssist commuity not just for today but for the whole year through. BlueAssist is all about giving people who struggle to communicate when out in the community a method to get their wishes and needs to be heard. It is a simple system creating a bridge between those who are finding it hard to communicate and others around them. Whether you are out doing your shopping , or working in a cafe, or on the transport system or just waiting for a bus, you could help make life much easier for another person just by reading their message and answering their question.
When you become a BlueAssistant you will be sent a badge to help others to know you are someone who wants to help. A Guidance sheet to help you to know how to respond and BlueAssist bag to carry your shopping, a key ring and a certificate, plus a handful of BlueAssist cards to share out. We will keep you up to date with the charity as it develops through regular newsletters. You will also be invited to our AGM and be given an opportunity to vote and help us to decide priorities for the next year.
Whilst we are campaigning for you to belong to the growing family of BlueAssistants we do need funds to help our work to develop. BlueAssist cards and phone app are free to anyone who needs to use them. We do not believe that people should have to pay to have a voice, but we need your help too to make sure this happens. It costs £3:45 to send out a pack of cards to a person who needs them, £15 to supply cards to a service for people with disabilities, £50 allows us to run our help line phones for a month and offer advice and £250 funds us going out to train a group to learn to use the system.
We keep our overheads to a minimum with lots of volunteers but we cannot do it without your support too. So whether you can only give £1 or are able to give more we would be very grateful.
